Register a South African company directly with the regulator
The Companies and Intellectual Property Commission, South Africa's official registry for company registration, annual returns and business name reservations.
Use when
You are registering a South African company and want to pay statutory fees rather than agent markup.
Skip when
You want the process handled for you and will pay for that.
Registering directly costs a fraction of what an agent charges β the statutory fees are published and low. The trade-off is the portal itself, which is unforgiving, and annual returns that must be filed or the company is deregistered. Deregistration for missed returns is common and avoidable; diarise it. A B-BBEE affidavit is separate and often needed to win contracts.
