$70m climate fund with a venture-building facility attached
Persistent's Africa Climate Venture Fund reached a US$52 million first close against a US$70 million target, backed by FSD Africa Investments, the Nordic Development Fund, the African Development Bank's SEFA programme, JICA and the Soros Economic Development Fund. It invests from pre-seed through Series A in energy, agriculture and resource transition, and runs a separate US$5 million venture-building facility that puts operational help alongside the cheque.
