Status (8 Sep 2026): rolling sessions, apply any time. Award: US$10,000 per project, paid US$6,000 during the programme, US$2,000 at the six-month check-in and US$2,000 at 12 months, plus security tooling and training. Open to individual maintainers or teams of up to three, aged 18+, with an active GitHub profile in a GitHub Sponsors supported region - Nigeria is supported. No legal entity required. The real bar is demonstrated community traction and a defined governance structure, so prepare stars, forks, external contributors and a written CONTRIBUTING doc.
