Equity-free prize funding for tech solutions to global problems
An open innovation platform at MIT that selects Solver teams each year across climate, learning, health and economic prosperity challenges, connecting them to prize funding and the MIT ecosystem.
Use when
You have a deployed technology solution mapping onto climate, learning, health or economic prosperity and want equity-free prize money plus MIT introductions.
Skip when
You need certain funding - awards are discretionary - or your work sits outside all published challenge themes.
Status (8 Sep 2026): the 2027 Global Economic Prosperity Challenge opens 22 September 2026 at 9:00am EDT with a solution deadline of 2 November 2026 at 12:00pm EST. Solve publishes that last year's Solver teams received an average of about US$40,000 each from a pool of over US$1 million at selection - there is no guaranteed cheque. The 2027 slate has no governance or transparency lane, so non-fitting work must be argued through to the published themes. English only.
